Located in one of the most stunning settings of Douro, the Foz Tua Dam stands out for the fusion between engineering and architecture. The project seeks to reduce the visual impact of the infrastructure through a controlled formal language, marked by geometric volumes and neutral claddings that echo the tones of the hillside. The monumentality of the construction is softened by a sensitive architectural approach that respects the natural context and enhances the views over the valley.
The lighting system incorporates Tua and OS products, robust and precise solutions designed for large-scale spaces and technical demands, respecting the natural landscape and reinforcing the dam’s monumentality.
More than just a technical feat, the Foz Tua Dam is also a piece that engages in dialogue with the history and geography of the region, contributing to its transformation without erasing its identity.
